The Akhila Karnataka Hindu Temple Archaka’s, Agamika’s and Upadivanths Federation (R) is a Trust established 50 Years ago for the welfare of the Archaka’s, Agamika’s and Upadivantha’s, which includes all Hindu religious Community Temples in the society and is accredited by Government of Karnataka

History

There are about 34,500 Hindu Temples, most of them being of hoary antiquity in the State and from about 600-650 Years the Maharaja’s build a Vishnu / Shiva or Devi ( Shakthi) temple in almost every Village and donated a piece of land and gave it as a (Inaam)  in the same village or neighbouring village.

About 150 Years ago the Rulers of Mysore the Wadiyar’s had instructed the Darbar Commisioners to make this piece of land in the Temple’s name and also had appointed a Archaka to each Temple and had passed a order that the particular Archaka /Poojari will do the Nityapuje at the temple and maintain the temple, from them on the Archaka’s or Poojari’s as their lieneage progressed are continuously doing the Pooja.

From 1955 all the Land and belongings of the temple got devolved into the State Govenrment.
